Motivation is the internal state or condition that serves to activate or energize behavior.  Motivation is what drives an individual to achieve a goal.  Motivation theories believe that motivation plays an important role in the performance of all learned responses.  There are different sources of motivation described as intrinsic and extrinsic.  We will explore different sources of notification in this course.  The goal of this course is to educate the reader on the different, but similar definitions of motivation.  This course will cover why motivation is so important from a psychological perspective, the different sources of motivation, the stages of change, Social Cognitive Theories of Motivation, and the different types of motivation.  Brain design and motivation, the influence of environment on motivation, and how ADHD affects motivation will also be discussed in this course.
